Bill Britt
In 1970, Bill Britt paid $25 for a starter kit. It was the start of one of the most influential careers in the history of direct selling.
Before he joined the profession, Bill Britt had served in Korea and gone on to become a city manager. He was sponsored by Dexter and Birdie Yager, and bringing him into the business proved to be a turning point for the whole profession.
Until then, network marketing had been built largely by hourly and blue-collar workers. Bill was one of the first white-collar professionals to take it seriously. In doing so, he helped spark a movement that attracted generations of professionals into the business and reinvented the model in the process.
Through Britt Worldwide, Bill built a nine-figure organisation. His greatest legacy may be the system itself. He showed the profession what real duplication looks like. He showed how an organisation could be structured so that ordinary people could follow a proven path and achieve extraordinary results. Countless leaders learned from that model. One of them was Randy Gage, who credits his exposure to Bill and his organisation for teaching him what a system is really about.
Bill passed away in 2013 at the age of 81. In 2026 he was inducted posthumously into the Direct Selling Hall of Fame. Every leader who builds with a duplicable system today stands, in part, on his shoulders.
